Ok, let's start by saying - we understand that this is a pain for many reasons. One is that it takes you to Facebook to authenticate your Instagram! We know. We wish it wasn't as tedious as it is. But, ever since Facebook bought Instagram they made this whole process a lot harder than opening your IG, saying "Yes, I authorize" and going back to Glewee.
For starters, we just want to make clear the benefits of authenticating your Instagram with Glewee (through Facebook, yes). To match you with a Brand Deal on Glewee that has Instagram involved, we need to pull your follower count and make sure you fit in the parameter(s) set for the campaign. Secondly, when you post something to IG (a feed post, a story, or a reel) we display the data associated with that post to the Brand you're working within a campaign. This way, you don't need to go in and screenshot post analytics every day to keep the Brand(s) you're working with happy.
On the brightest of sides, you only need to do this process once and from that moment on we'll be able to pair you with new paid Brand Deals on Glewee for the rest of your time using our platform (barring any major software updates).
Ok - let's do this. You may have gotten to this screen, click around, tried to authenticate, & received an error message. If so, that's ok - we'll figure this one out.
First, you'll need to make sure that you have a Facebook account. If you don't have a Facebook account, follow these steps to make one.
Second, you'll need to make sure that you have a Facebook Page. If you don't know how to make a Facebook Page, follow these steps to make one.
Third, you'll need to link your Instagram Business Account to that Facebook Page. It's really easy. If you don't know how to connect an IG account to a Facebook Page, follow these steps here.
Once these three steps are done and your Instagram Business Account is linked to your Facebook Page, now you have everything you need to authenticate Glewee with your accounts (and any app with your account moving forward in life, so it's a great exercise!)
Now, you'll need to go back to Glewee and either authenticate your account from the pop-up screen or go to User Profile > My Social Medias > Then press the IG logo
You'll then see the following screen:
Now, if you go ahead and press "Continue as _____ _____" it will try to link your accounts. If you only have one Facebook Page on this account that is connected to your Instagram Business Account then this will work perfectly and it will bring you back to Glewee and you'll see the IG logo filled in with your real-time follower count on your Glewee profile. If you don't... well... onto the next step below.
If you have multiple Facebook pages on your Facebook account, then Facebook doesn't know which page to pull data from when you press "Continue as ____ ____" and we have to go back to your Glewee Profile > My Social Medias > Press the IG logo. That will bring you back to the screen above.
From here press "Edit Setting" - then you'll see the screen below.
You need to select the Facebook Page that is linked to your Instagram Business Account. The reason it didn't work before with the "Continue as ____ ____" is because it was trying to pull data from a page that wasn't linked to your IG account.
Once you do that and press Next, it will ask you what IG account you're looking to authenticate. Choose the IG Business Account that you want to use with the Glewee platform (a.k.a your main one). Press next and then it will prompt you to go back to Glewee.
At this point on the Glewee platform you should be able to go to My Profile > My Social Media > and see that IG is filled in with your real-time follower count available.
If you still have an issue authenticating your Instagram account with Glewee after completing the steps mentioned above please try the steps mentioned below on a desktop!
First, please log in to Facebook using a computer and if you don't have a Facebook account then please go to Facebook.com and click sign up.
Once you are signed into Facebook go to the left side of the home page and click on the Orange Flag symbol that says pages
If you don't have a page created already please click create the new page. Once you have clicked on creating a new page you will type out your: Page name, category, and description, and then click create the page.
If you already have a page created please follow these next steps.
Once you are on the page you created please go to the left side of the screen and scroll down and click on settings
Once you are inside your page settings scroll down until you see Instagram, then click on Instagram. From there you will log in to the Instagram page you wish to authenticate with Glewee.
Once you have signed into your Instagram account on pages and selected all the checkboxes proceed to the Glewee website or APP and sign in to your Glewee account.
You will then proceed to your profile, then socials, and click connect your Instagram. From here you will log into your Instagram account and select all checkboxes to authenticate your account.
From here your Instagram account will be authenticated with Glewee and your Instagram followers count will be updated every 24 hours.
If you change your Instagram handle name to something else you will need to contact firstname.lastname@example.org for them to remove the link so that you can then re-authenticate your new Instagram account. This process can take up to 5 business days!
If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to email@example.com and we'll make sure to walk you through the process and ensure that your accounts are all linked and working properly so that we can get you into some new paid Brand Deals!
